WHY SO MANY CHRISTIAN COUNSELLORS?



Why do so many churches now have full time Christian counsellors on staff? Why are so many Christians lining up to see Christian counsellors? There's obviously a need! Pastor John Piper has a theory that church life today (and for many past generations) has missed out on one essential biblical ingredient. What is that ingredient? BROKEN



Have you ever heard of a horse being 'broken'? That's when a horse, that resists being controlled (or resists being ridden), surrenders to the trainer (or rider) and obeys what is commanded. In the same way, God wants us to be 'broken'. God wants us to surrender to Him, humble ourselves before Him, and allow Christ to live through our lives. When we are broken God can use us...just like a horse can be used once it is broken!

In Psalm 105:4, it tells us to seek God's face always. Actually, the Hebrew word for 'God's face' can be interpreted 'God's presence'. So we are to seek God's presence always.
